Wonderwall by Oasis will forever define this summer. It has been the anthem. Kind of a sad anthem. Makes us all sound like a bunch of kids whos lifes are falling apart, but in a way that's what we are. There's been a lot of shit that happened this summer that this can stand for. And I guess it's just part of growing up.

Give Me One Good Reason by Blink 182Collapse )

reminds me of the summer between 6th and 7th grade. When I spent the whole summer away from my house. Coco, Jordan, and I would make fun of the hippies who sat in the park while we ate free bentos. I miss those days. When nothing seemed to matter.

English Summer Rain by Placebo makes me think of the forest on the coast. I know that sounds odd, but the first time I ever really got addicted to that song I was on a field trip to the coast and I just sat with that song on repeat for hours. I also think it would be a very good song for a sex scene, but that's beyond the point.

Am I the only one who freaked out over Blink 182's "Not Now" video?
The review of all their other videos really got to me, because each of those videos, songs, and album have such specific and strong memories for me.

"Hitchin' A Ride" by Green Day always reminds me of...

September 23, 2005. How just being in the same room with Mike Dirnt (though it was an audience of 10,000) and watching him play the bass can make my heart swell with pride and make my stomach drop. How it can fill me with emotion to the point where tears wouldn't even come.

I think it's safe to say that I love this band.

Oy, I've been in this comm. for a bit but never posted in it. Figured it was about time i did.

Give 'em hell kid" by My Chemical Romance always reminds me of my fried Larry. At the end of last year we started singing it in the hall during class change. It just makes me remember all the fun we used to have before we started going to separate schools.

“We are made from the sharpest thing you say”

"Straightjacket feeling" by the all-American rejects reminds me of my first and only girlfriend. (now ex) She was my everything and I.. let her take over my life. She left my exactly four months ago for someone else. After she promised me everything, we had our whole life planed. Some days I'm okay without her and others I’m just flat out not. -_-

“ Yesterday was hell but today I am fine without you. Run away this time without you.”

I remember listening to this song in an unfamiliar bedroom and crying till my eyes felt like they were bleeding.
I remember screaming the words to unanswering walls while copying the lyrics in a notebook.
I remember how accepted this song makes me feel.

This song always reminds me of my boyfriend. ^_^

I wish I had a parachute cuz I’m falling bad for you
And I can see the ground approaching now
But I’m not sure what to do
I feel like a pinata once you take a swing at me
If you could just crack the shell open
I think inside you would find something sweet.

And I hear you like a hunter now, your footsteps in the leaves
And I would gladly leave my hiding place
So I'm hoping to be seen.
So let your arrow fly
And see I’m well within your aim
And lay your traps for a thousand miles
And please don’t let me escape.

Winter came to Omaha and left us looking like a bride
A million perfect snowflakes now
And no two are alike
And so it’s hard for me imagining flaws in this design
I know debris, it covers everything
But still I am in love with this life.

[/music/ |Kidney Theives - S&M (a love song)]

I can't remember if I ever had my own post in here...but I'm doing this now while it's all in my head.

I was thinking eariler about what songs to put on my mp3 player (cause I'm too stingy to buy an iPod.) And I found all my old songs from WAY!! back...so..here.

Linkin Park - Don't Stay: This song, well, *clears throat* I went to a LP gig with my mates, and I hooked up with a guy, and this will always remind me of the first time I had sex in a a public place. So yeah, crappy guy, great song, awesome memory.

The White Stripes - 7 Nation Army: It was like our anthem to the summer. My last real summer with my close friends. All we did was hang out at parks and cause trouble, or run around town with little fairy wings. It was fun, and I can't listen to that song any more unless it's summer.

Garbage - #1 Crush: Jeff and I had our first dance as a couple to this song. Jeff was like totally, the love of my life. He was amazing and sweet and kind. So kind, that when his sister and her husband broke up, he moved all the to San Francisco to help her raise the kids because she was so close to having them taken away from her.

System of a Down - Violent Pornography: Anyone with a mother who is against sodomy in the worst way, play this over and over in your room, REALLY loud. I do, it's fun as hell. And that's why that song is just the best in the world.

So those are my songs. For now. I think I have others but they aren't in my head right now.

Hitchin' A Ride [Oct. 27th, 2005|12:50 am]

A lot of songs mean different things to me, but there's one in particular that means alot to me right now. And it's "Hitchin' A Ride" by Green Day

This is my best friend's favorite Green Day song (one of my favorites too), and anytime I listen to it, I just can't help but think about him. We're off at different colleges now, and I miss him so much that my heart aches, literally. This song reminds me of when we went and saw Green Day and MCR back in April. And how damn excited he was when they played it. I think about all the times we rocked out to this song in his car. I think about being at his house and staying up all night playing video games.

Even though we are hours apart, this song makes me feel a little bit closer to him.

Hey! I'm Zoe. How you guy's doing?

Ok so I was thinking back about my summer today and trying to find a song that pretty much summed up my whole summer. So I ended up with Best Of You by the Foo Fighters. There was a lot of stuff going on with friends and family and I just seemed to related to that song a lot. I think I listened to it at least once a day.

Well, I guess every community needs an introductory post, right?
I'm Brittany, and for now I'm the only mod. Add me if you wanna win at life, k?
I don't want this community to die, so PROMOTE!

Now for the purpose of the post...
"Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson always reminds me of summer.
Of hallways filled with smoke so thick it impairs your vision.
Of muggy sidewalks and cool car rides with the speakers blaring.
Of friends, dancing, glitter, love.
